Start with the buyer and firearms

Select the firearms involved and enter the buyer's information and answers. Customer matching can help reuse saved details, but the person completing the form still needs to review every answer. The workflow separates buyer certification from the seller's background-check and transfer steps so the transaction can be checked in order.

Catch missing information before finalizing

B.O.L.T. checks for required information and buyer certification before recording NICS results or finalizing. When a final review finds a problem, the form shows the outstanding items instead of silently completing the transfer. Signatures must be drawn and saved; an empty signature pad cannot be submitted as a signature. These checks assist the dealer, who remains responsible for verifying the answers and the transaction.

Keep the PDF and related records together

After a form is finalized, its generated PDF and attachments can be viewed from the transaction. The linked A&D disposition remains part of the business record. For a qualifying multiple-handgun sale, B.O.L.T. creates a Form 3310.4 follow-up report; its retained copy can be attached to the originating Form 4473 when the report is marked filed. The dealer must still review, file, and retain required reports.
